From product image to Shopify draft.

A practical guide to creating, reviewing, and finishing a downloadable product listing.

Before you start

Draft Builder AI is for downloadable and digital products. Prepare one clear main image for the product. Shopify product status and category information refresh separately. AI store-style learning happens only when you choose Learn from active products. It uses eligible active digital-product listings and does not consume a draft credit.

If your store has no eligible active reference listing, choose Continue with starter setup, then save a default price greater than zero in Settings before creating drafts.

Create a draft

  1. Open Draft Builder AI from Shopify Admin.
  2. Complete store learning or starter setup and save a default price greater than zero.
  3. Upload one main product image.
  4. Start draft creation. One available credit is reserved for one complete draft.
  5. Wait for the editable draft to appear.
If generation does not complete: A reserved credit is returned when the app confirms that no paid AI request completed or that the provider rejected the request. If the provider result cannot yet be confirmed, the operation is protected for safe recovery and the credit remains pending until reconciliation. The app does not silently send a second paid request.

Review every field

Check the title, description, price, product type, vendor, tags, SEO title, meta description, URL handle, and image alt text. These are working suggestions, so change anything that does not accurately describe your product.

Draft Builder AI provides an editable image alt-text suggestion. When the product is sent to Shopify, the app derives an upload filename from the reviewed product handle or title.

Category behavior: A Shopify category is inherited only when the app has checked the eligible active digital listings, every checked listing has a category, and all of them use the same category. Otherwise the category remains blank for merchant review.

Finish in Shopify

  1. Create the Shopify product from the reviewed draft.
  2. Open the resulting product. It remains in Draft status.
  3. Attach the actual file the customer will receive using your Shopify download-delivery setup.
  4. Review the Shopify category and collection placement.
  5. Review the entire listing, then publish it yourself when ready.
Do not skip the downloadable file. The product image and listing draft are not the file the customer purchased.

Troubleshooting

My store has no active reference listing. Can I continue?

Yes. Choose Continue with starter setup, then save a default price greater than zero in Settings before creating drafts.

Why is the Shopify category blank?

The app inherits a category only after checking the eligible active digital listings and confirming that every checked listing has the same category. Otherwise it stays blank for your review.

AI generation did not complete. What happens to my credit?

The reserved credit is returned when the app confirms that no paid AI request completed or that the provider rejected the request. If the provider result is uncertain, the credit remains pending while the operation is safely reconciled.

Shopify product creation failed. Will retrying use another credit?

No. Retrying the failed Shopify creation does not consume another credit.

Why is the product still a draft?

That is intentional. You need to attach the sold file, check the listing, and decide when to publish.
